Backend Software Engineer (f/m/d)

Your Role

Being an engineer for our key portal Fertighaus.de means implementing and improving features that impact the lives of hundreds of thousands of people - they will build their new home with our support! As a member of the product team, and under the mentorship of our CTO, you will be involved in… 


  • Taking over ownership of parts of the Django backend architecture

  • Developing new features for our users, both internal and external

  • Supporting the development of our backend applications and services

  • Writing clean, reusable code and developing libraries that support our future growth

  • Providing technical insight during our product development process

  • Optimizing the backend for maximum speed, quality, and scalability

  • Collaborating directly with colleagues from all departments 


Our tech-stack

  • Our applications and APIs are all custom tailored Django Apps

  • Backend: Python, Django, Wagtail, Django Rest Framework, Elasticsearch, Postgresql, Redis

  • Frontend: ECMA6, React, Webpack

  • Continuous Integration, Docker, and Cloud-Hosting make our applications agile, fast, and scalable

Infrastructure: Jenkins, AWS, Docker
Your Profile
  • You are used to building applications and complex features in Python 3.

  • You enjoy the startup atmosphere and have already worked in non-corporate environments.

  • You have 3+ years of experience with Python frameworks like Django or Flask.

  • If you have knowledge of Docker, Elasticsearch, Redis, Postgres, AWS, or Jenkins, even better!

  • You like to share new ideas and techniques which help us to improve our codebase as a team.

  • You are used to writing tests for your code.

  • You are a team player and want to be an active member of our development process.

  • You feel comfortable communicating in English.

  • You love to learn new things and solve challenging problems.
